I’m so excited to share my favorite podcasts for creativity with you all! I think we all know that it’s easier to stay motivated if we have accountability partners. I consider these podcasts to be my creative accountability partners in work, life and play.
What I love most about these five podcasts for creativity is that they speak to a wide audience. Whether you are looking to practice innovation in the corporate environment or seeking affirmation and purpose as a creative individual–these podcasts will inspire you!
See Below for My List of 5 Podcasts for Creativity
1. How To Academy Podcast
The How to Academy Podcast features the world’s most influential voices, Nobel Laureates to Pulitzer Prize Winners who offer insight on building confidence at work. They also heavily focus on topics geared at tackling your biggest creative challenges. One of my favorite episodes from the How to Academy Podcast is the Elizabeth Gilbert Meets Julia Cameron- The Path to Higher Creativity episode.
Julia Cameron is the author of Artist’s Way and speaks on how everyone can tap into their creativity with simple daily exercises. Julia has the most wonderful, light-hearted and wise personality. On the episode, she chats with the author of Eat. Pray. Love, Elizabeth Gilbert. I highly recommend starting with this episode if you are seeking creative affirmation and motivation.
2. Creative Confidence Podcast
The Creative Confidence Podcast hosts candid conversations with change makers, designers and creative minds. They focus on topics like leadership, creativity, innovation and growth with real world examples from some of today’s most inspiring professionals.
So, if you are interested in learning insight from impact oriented leaders, this podcast if for you. I recommend starting with Storytelling for Entrepreneurs or Crafting a Creative Career featuring Designer, Donald Burlock. Donald shares how he altered the framework of each stage in his career and how to embrace the journey of entrepreneurship.
3. The Innovation Hub
I love the Innovation Hub and think you will too! This podcast touches current events and hot topics in the world today: everything from medicine to education. The Innovation Hub stands out to me because it focuses on topics that are relevant but still unique to the daily chatter.
For example, I just finished listening to the Has Cleaning Gone Too Far episode featuring Rob Dunn, professor of Applied Ecology at NC State University. He claims that trying to eliminate all bacteria, including those that are beneficial to us, can lead to autoimmune disorders. Something to make you go…huh.
4. The Innovation Show
The Innovation Show is a great podcast for creativity. The show embraces the spirit of constant change which I talk about in my 5 Tips on How To Be Creative post. The podcast focuses on corporate culture and work/life balance.
Some great episodes to start with are Getting Things Done or The Unfiltered Lessons of a Female Entrepreneur with Victoria Montgomery. Unfiltered conversations are the BEST part of podcasts…would you agree?
5. ‘Art Is…’
Lastly, we will end on a very artist centric podcast called ‘Art Is…’. This particular podcast is perfect for those who are intrigued by the art world and enjoy discussing the future for new and existing creators. It also serves to break down barriers between creative disciplines and encourage artists to broaden their perspectives by learning from other industries.
I highly recommend the FairArtFair the App for Artists episode focusing on the app itself and what the new digital community has to offer artists.
BONUS!! I’ve added a 6th podcast for creativity to the list!
6. Speaking of Psychology
Speaking of Psychology podcast highlights some of the latest psychological research being conducted today. Some of my favorite episodes include Creativity, insight and “eureka moments,” with John Kounios, PhD. Are you an analytical creative or insightful creative? Find out on the podcast!
