Flower Hair Pins are so simple to make! I made each of my bridesmaids a flower hair pin to wear at our destination wedding in Puerto Rico. Each bridesmaid wore a white dress. The flower hair pin added that pop of color perfect for a tropical wedding.
Flower Hair Pins can be worn for all types of occasions:
- Wedding hair accessories
- Coachella hair ideas
- Hawaiian themed birthday party
- Flower child halloween costume
- Tropical themed party
- Hula girl costume
- Girl’s birthday party
Best Tips for Making Flower Hair Pins
Step 1:
Flower Hair Pins last the longest when using fake flowers. Fake flowers can be difficult to cut with regular scissors so I used a wire cutter to cut the stems off each flower. Make sure to cut the stems close to the “root” of the flower.
Step 2:
The next step is to place your hair pin over the area where the stem used to be. Take your hot glue gun and glue the hair pin to the base of the flower. Tip: it only takes a pea size amount of glue, you don’t want to add to the weight of the flower by adding extra glue!
Step 3:
Congrats! You made it to the last step. Take an extra flower that matches the color of the flower you have been working with and cut one of the petals. Using a small amount of hot glue, cover the hair pin with the petal. This is to make the base of the flower smooth against your head…and just well, prettier.
